The air source heat pump replaces your hot tub’s existing or traditional 2kW/3kW heater. It heats up your hot tub or swim spa water by extracting the ambient heat from the outside air.
The heat pump fan takes in the air and directs it over the evaporator coil of the air pump which contains an advanced liquid refrigerant. This turns the refrigerant into a gas which is then compressed to increase the heat. This hot gas passes through the built-in heat exchanger which transfers the heat from the hot gas which in turn heats the hot tub or swim spa’s water up. The gas then returns via a compressor valve to a liquid state and the process seamlessly begins again, as demand requires.
It operates efficiently and reliably regardless of the outside air temperature, although it can take a little longer when the outside air temperature is lower, such as it tends to be in winter.
